Starting on November 1, 2021, Salt Lake City Public Utilities will begin working on a major project that may affect golf course routing and operations at Forest Dale golf course.
We expect to have all nine holes open, but holes 1 and 2 may be shortened to avoid interfering with the project or putting workers at risk. Until the project is complete in the spring of 2022, we will be discounting all green fees by $2.
Project updates will be posted on this page.

2021 Season: Sign-up day will be April 5, 2021. We invite you to visit the Forest Dale clubhouse anytime on April 5th to register and arrange your tee time for the first week of play. If you want to play a round while you are there, just contact the clubhouse to reserve a tee time. If you are unable to make it on April 5th then you can still participate in the League – just pay your dues when you check-in for your first week of play.
Regular league play is on Mondays and weekly payouts will begin on April 12th and run through October 4th.
Eligibility: To be eligible for “Play of the Day” tournaments and prizes you must be a Forest Dale Ladies Golf League (FDLGL) paid member and have a current UGA handicap and GHIN. If you are signed up with UGA but still working towards having enough rounds to establish a handicap, our Handicap Co-Chairs will determine a temporary handicap so that you can still participate.
Play of the Day: Winners will be posted weekly at the clubhouse and winnings will be loaded each week and available within one week of play.
Club Championship: You must have played and paid for seven (7) “Play of the Day” weekly games to be eligible for the Club Championship. The club championship runs for three weeks in August combining the golfer’s best two (2) scores of the three rounds. You must play at least two of the three weeks to be eligible to win.
Flights: All competition will be in four handicap flights:
A:1-15 B:16-19 C:20-25 D:26+
Costs: Annual registration fee is $36 ($31 for 65 and over) and weekly “Play of the Day” is $3.00. The registration fee funds membership gifts, door prizes and supplements costs for the Closing Social dinner (details to be announced). The “Play of the Day” fee funds the weekly prizes.
Community: The Forest Dale Ladies Golf League is on Facebook. Members can request to join the League group here. League email: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Forest Dale was built in 1906 as the Salt Lake Country Club and holds the distinction of being the oldest golf course in Utah. Forest Dale has undergone several phases of renovation since the City acquired the course in 1935. A major redesign in 1986 maintained the tradition while transporting the course into a contemporary test of golf. Today, it’s a challenging course with several small, original table-top greens that place a premium on accuracy.
